Dennis R. Mortensen, CEO & Founder

Dennis is the Founder and CEO of Visual Revenue. He’s a pioneer and expert in the analytics, optimization and online media space and has been since its inception - he is also a fully-fledged entrepreneur and successfully delivered a number of company exits. Dennis is obsessed with the marriage between News Media and Analytics and this passion triggered the formation of Visual Revenue. He’s an accredited Associate Web Analytics Instructor at the University of British Colombia, the Author of Data Driven Insights with YWA from Wiley and a frequent speaker on the subject of analytics and media. Charlie Holbech, VP Operations & Co-Founder

Charlie is responsible for operations at Visual Revenue. He's been in the online industry since 1997 focusing on strategic partnerships, sales, account management and marketing. He's also a web analyst and has extensive experience in coordinating deployments of analytics technologies in the online media and e-commerce world. Charlie's been in profitable startup environments since 1998, all of which have ultimately exited successfully - the most recent being the acquisition of IndexTools by Yahoo! Inc. Charlie holds a bachelor degree from Cambridge Polytechnic in Business and Computer Engineering.




Alex Poon, VP Engineering & Co-Founder

Alex is responsible for engineering at Visual Revenue. He has over ten years of experience in data analytics, software development and product management. Alex has advised numerous Fortune 500 companies in the media and technology space as a management consultant. As an engineer at Lockheed Martin, he built software for unmanned aerial vehicle and radio/wireless signal analysis. Alex received his MBA from Columbia Business School. He also holds a MS and BS degree in Electric Engineering. Zerg is his preferred race at Starcraft II.




Shane Reustle, Senior Engineer

Shane is responsible for system operations and technology at Visual Revenue. He has been writing software since he was 13 years old and has experience across the entire development stack. He organized BarCampNYC and co-organized numerous events with the Hacker Union. He is passionate about JavaScript and hoagies.




Jeroen Janssens, Data Scientist

Jeroen is responsible for the predictive analytics aspect of Visual Revenue's platform. His specialties are in large-scale data mining and data visualization. He is passionate about designing, implementing, and evaluating new predictive models using open source tools. Jeroen obtained a B.Sc. in Life Sciences and a M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence, both cum laude from Maastricht University, the Netherlands. He will soon be defending his Ph.D. in Machine Learning on the topic of "One-Class Classification and Stochastic Outlier Selection" at the Tilburg Center for Cognition and Communication.




Gary Ragusa, VP Business Development

Gary is responsible for sales and strategic partnerships at Visual Revenue. He has over twelve years of experience in digital media, business development and early stage ventures. Gary caught the entrepreneurial bug in the late 90's, co-founding a digital marketplace for film and television production, which was sold to iFILM in March 2000. He then led business development efforts in two additional early stage companies in multimedia software and mobile, where he structured deals with Liberate, Sun, Lucky Magazine, and Vogue. He also advised print publishers on digital migration strategies at PwC. Gary received his MBA from Columbia Business School.




Philipp Tsipman, Account Director

Philipp is responsible for managing client relationships at Visual Revenue. He has a lifelong passion for technology, media, and analytics. Philipp is a former analyst and product manager with LG Electronics Mobile and associate with the Boston Consulting Group. Philipp holds a bachelors degree in Economics from Tufts University.




Josh Forman, Full Stack Engineer

Josh graduated from Hofstra with BS in computer science. He has over ten years experience in programming and big data. After he graduated, he spent two years scaling high performance systems at a telecom. At Visual Revenue, he is responsible for web development and scaling infrastructure.




Jianying Ji, Senior Backend Engineer

Ji graduated from UC Berkeley and worked in the EDA field, both in design and programming capacities. After a stint in Germany doing research on scheduling, he returned to the States. Then in 2008 he joined Hedge Systems, Inc. that provides customized solutions for Hedge fund risk managers. He was responsible for daily diagnostics and the backend ensuring 100% uptime. He returned in 2011 to work at Visual Revenue.




Varun Vijayaraghavan, Full Stack Engineer

Varun is responsible for deployment and engineering at Visual Revenue. He graduated from Electrical Engineering department at Rutgers University, where he studied machine learning, and worked on a voice based identity verification system. After graduation, he joined Visual Revenue in 2011.




Rob Doherty, Full Stack Engineer

Rob has had a lifelong interest in technology, and loves solving challenging problems using open-source tools. He graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University where he wrote software for astronomy research. He's specialized in areas such as data mining and recommendation algorithms and when he's not writing code, he enjoys playing bass. Rob is responsible for development and engineering at Visual Revenue.




Evan Nabavian, Business Associate

Evan assists in the sales process and lead generation at Visual Revenue. He studied journalism at NYU and has spent time in business development and production roles at CBS Interactive and VEVO, respectively. Moonlighting as a journalist, Evan is the editor of Metal Lungies, a staff writer at Passion of the Weiss, and has contributed to Billboard and The Daily.




Vibeke Glavind, Office Manager

Vibeke is responsible for human resources and administration as the office manager at Visual Revenue. She organizes events and client meetings and has 17 years of startup experience across four countries. Vibeke has successfully exited three startups and she is also a qualified nurse.
