Web Analytics Transparency, Notification, Choice and Control to Visitors

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

In 1999, Seth Godin taught us that opt-in is the right way to treat people regarding email. At the core of opt-in is notification and choice. Now that the public is becoming more aware of passive tracking technologies, the Web Analytics Association believes that there needs to be a clear, visible way for site visitors to make the choice to opt-out of web analytics tracking. Transparency as to what information is being tracked and how the data is being used is a must. It is simply an inevitable future privacy requisite from visitors on your website.

IndexTools Parting :-)

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Where’s Dennis? – a comment about Web Analytics in Asia

Monday, July 30th, 2007

I recently returned from a month in Singapore, where I had the opportunity to explore the Asian Web Analytics market (as far as Singapore represent the region, which of course is not a fair representative). This is no Forester or Gartner in depth market analysis; this is my own very subjective comment and view after:

Emetrics Summit Düsseldorf.

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Just finished a fantastic set of authentic Sushi at an all Japanese speaking restaurant – not than I can complain about the good food at the Emetrics Summit Düsseldorf, which was super. However; this German version of the summit is still somehow limited by, the relative to the other summits, low attendee number.
On the fun [...]
